Port Dickson Ornamental Fish Centre

Fish lovers will want to visit the Port Dickson Ornamental Fish Centre in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. This place is home to all sorts of fishes from the sea such as clown fishes, puffer fish, barramundis, sharks, etc. There are colourful fishes, ugly looking fishes such as the toad fish, and some special sea creatures such as sea horses.

The Port Dickson Ornamental Fish Centre is a superb place to go to to learn about the many fishes, corals, and sea life that call our sea home. There are so many types of fishes here and corals that they take up many tanks and aquariums. I was lucky enough to witness the birth of seahorses in a little tank during my visit.

There are also sea turtles here at the Port Dickson Ornamental Fish Centre. To me, these turtles are the highlight of the place. Some of the turtles here are rescued turtles that got stranded along the coast and some were saved by fishermen and brought to the centre. Some of these turtles were hatched at the turtle sanctuary at Glory Beach Resort that is located in another area of Port Dickson.

During our visit to the Port Dickson Ornamental Fish Centre, we released a hawksbill turtle back into the sea. These turtles may return to the beaches along Port Dickson to lay their eggs. If not Port Dickson, perhaps beaches along the long stretch of coast all the way to Malacca. Anyway, should you decide to visit Port Dickson, do drop by the The Port Dickson Ornamental Fish Centre. After all, entrance is free.

The PD Ostrich Show Farm is not just about ostriches. There are other animals there too such as guinea pigs, cows, etc. There are also various fruit trees, herb plants, flowers, etc at the herb garden. It is here that I got my first taste of pineapple salad; sweet pineapple slices mixed with flowers such as hibiscus and sweet pea (should you decide to try eating sweet pea flowers do not eat the bud), as well as mint leafs. It was super delicious.
