A place where the souls of artists come to life

Some people visit Melaka for food. Some visit because they love history, armed with cameras, determined to photograph every brick that looks older than their grandparents. Then there are the wonderfully curious souls who wander into Kompleks Kraf Melaka (Melaka Craft Complex) and suddenly discover that glue, wood, fabric, paint, and imagination can cause just as much excitement as a roller coaster.

At first glance, it looks calm. Suspiciously calm. But do not be fooled. Behind those walls are people quietly creating beautiful works of art while the rest of us are still struggling to cut a straight line with a pair of scissors.

On selected days, the complex runs craft classes where visitors can learn new skills without needing to possess the artistic talents of a Renaissance master. Even if your greatest artistic achievement was drawing a stickman with uneven legs, you will still have a brilliant time.
