favehotel Nagoya Batam is one of the latest hotels to have opened up in Batam, Indonesia; after the Covid-19 pandemic induced global lockdown. Located in Thamrin City Center, Nagoya Batam; favehotel Nagoya Batam is located at the center of the well-known Nagoya business district in Batam. It is some 30 minutes from Hang Nadim International Airport, Batam Center International Ferry Terminal, and Harbour Bay.
Launched on the 13th of July 2022, favehotel Nagoya Batam welcomed their first group of guests and I was amongst them. Having traveled from Johor Bahru in Malaysia to Batam, early in the morning by ferry; I felt happy and relieved to have finally arrived at 12 noon. But before I share my experience, here are some information about the hotel.

Other than being strategically located, favehotel Nagoya Batam offers two room options within its 117 room inventory. They are faveroom and fabroom. I was told that the names represent Favorite (faveroom) and Fabulous (fabroom). How true that piece of information is, I don’t really know. What I do know is that the rooms are nice, cozy, and comfortable. I stayed in the fabroom which is indeed fabulous.

My Stay
I stayed for three days at the favehotel Nagoya Batam, at one of the fabrooms that has a balcony with the view of the surroundings. The room is designed well with a modern theme. The bed was very comfortable to me. I mentioned “to me” because not everyone in my group found it comfortable. This is because the beds come with a topper that is lumpy by design. Some found this to be uncomfortable and decided to remove it. Doing so made the bed comfortable for them.
Being a new hotel everything looked good as things were all new. The chair in the room was comfortable. The table I sat at to do my work felt nice. But the one thing that I really enjoyed is the air-conditioning. I have an issue with heat. I have a heat allergy and coldness brings me comfort. The air-conditioning in the room is awesome. My sinuses cleared up as if it was a snowy white winter. Breathing became effortless.
Coffee and tea making facility in the room.
Needless to say, not everyone loves the cold. Some prefer to have fresh air in the room. That too can be had rather easily as the sliding glass doors to the balcony opens up really wide, allowing lots of air into the room. Doing so also opens up the room giving it an airier and open feel; something we did when a friend came over for a chat and found the room to be too cold.
Not all are roses though. I had an issue with the floor trap of the shower (bathroom). It flooded when I was taking a bath. I had to remove the cover of the floor trap to allow the water to flow into it and out of the shower area. Other than this, I did not face any issues in the room. Everything was awesome.
Rooms with modern design and amenities.
Service
Service was good but I am not sure if it is because I came as part of a media group. I will assume that their service standards are good generally. Check-in was smooth and fast. When I needed anything, the hotel staffs were helpful. Anyway, service is usually good at hotels in Indonesia. They exude warmth and friendliness that Indonesian hotels are known for.
Food And Beverage
When it comes to food, I found the offering at the morning buffet to be just good enough. There are enough food choices on offer. What we had included friend noodles, rice, chicken dishes, fish dishes, vegetables, congee, cereals, fruits, etc. Good enough for a breakfast buffet. Coffee, tea, and fruit juices quench the thirst, and for me; spiciness from the food.
Having our meal at the buffet.
Food will never be an issue at favehotel Nagoya Batam. Right beside the hotel is a food-court that offers a wide selection of food from local offerings to foods found in other countries as well. One will be spoiled for choice here at the food-court unless one really has eaten everything and no longer has a desire to explore food. If you happen to be someone with this issue, I feel sorry for you.
To Summarize
Personally I find the favehotel Nagoya Batam to be a good place to stay at. Being a three-star hotel I must say that the favehotel Nagoya Batam certainly hits the mark. The rooms are cozy, beds are comfortable (remove the topper if you don’t like the lumpiness), staffs are friendly, service is good, food are a plenty, and the location is good. A lovely place to stay at be it for business, or for a leisure holiday.
