We live in dangerous times. The COVID-19 virus is on the attack. People are dying around the world. Malaysia is in a Semi Lockdown in hopes that the spread of the virus will be halted (also to help those at the front line to better manage the situation). Do your part as a responsible citizen and fellow earthling on planet Earth, and help halt the spread of the virus. Here are some of the things you need to do.
Stay At Home
Do not go out unless it is absolutely necessary such as when you run out of essential items like medication for example. If you need food, use Grab Food, Food Panda, etc. Sanitize the food container before you open them. Also sanitize the bag that it came in. To be even more sure, wear a disposable glove when collecting your food. sanitize food container before placing on table. Discard bag properly.
If you absolutely need to go out…
Go out alone. Do not bring your family or friends. The lesser the people the lower the chance of the virus spreading. Keep yourself safe. Practise social distancing (at least 1 meter) with neighbours, and anyone around you. Do not hangout with friends. Go get what you need and go directly home.
Carry a bottle of sanitizer with you when you are outside and sanitize your hands as often as possible. Every time you touch something; sanitize. Make sure that sanitizer has at least 60% alcohol. Anything lighter may not kill the COVID-19 virus.
Wear A Mask
When you are out, wear a face mask and make sure that the mask you are wearing is the type that will block out vapour. Anti-dust masks are not good enough. Also do not touch your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Practise Good Respiratory Hygiene
Always cover your mouth and nose with your elbow or a tissue when you sneeze or cough. Immediately dispose tissue properly. If you’ve used your elbow to block the sneeze or cough, sanitize your elbow.
Wash Your Hands Regularly
Always wash your hands with soap and do it regularly. Soap will kill the COVID-19 (Corona Virus).
Not Feeling Well…
If you fall sick or if those in your vicinity (as in home) falls sick, call these numbers:
Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre: 03-8881 0200, 03-8881 0600 and 03-8881 0700.
Ask for the nearest hospital that you can go to. Note that not all hospitals are equipped to treat COVID-19 patients so make sure you get to the one’s recommended by the Crisis Preparedness And Response Centre. Go there together with all who are around you. Everyone around you needs to be checked for their own good.
Accompanied by difficulty breathing
Let’s do our part in helping to combat the spread of COVID-19 (Corona Virus). The sooner it is halted and managed, the sooner we can all get back to living our normal lives. Stay strong, stay vigilant, and stay safe.
