MyungRang Korean Street Snack

Sunway Velocity Mall Kuala Lumpur

When it comes to food, Malaysia has lots of delicious food to offer. Malaysia is indeed a melting pot of international cuisines. We have foods from so many parts of the world. It really is quite impossible to get bored with food here, although many do. Let’s not get into psychology and how our minds work. Let’s talk about a Korean street snack instead.

Have you heard of MyungRang Korean Street Snack? I have seen it before but I could not find the motivation to give it try. Street food and street snacks don’t usually catch my attention. My daughter was the one who kept pestering me to go try MyungRang Korean Street Snacks. Finally on her birthday I gave in. We visited the outlet at Sunway Velocity Mall in Kuala Lumpur.

A Little Bit On MyungRang Korean Street Snack

As the name implies, MyungRang Korean Street Snack has its origins in South Korea. It is one very popular snack brand in Korea, having sold over 80 million sticks (snacks) to date. Cheese And More Cheese

I love cheese and I do like sausages. MyungRang Korean Street Snack is mainly about cheese and sausages. We walked up to the counter and looked at the menu. The nice lady at the counter explained to us a fair bit about what they have on offer.

The Types Of MyungRang Snacks

As at time of writing, there are seven types of MyungRang snacks available. They are:

  1. Super Cheese: Half Jumbo Sausage + Mozzarella + Cheddar
  2. Mozzarella + Sausage: Half Jumbo Sausage + Mozzarella
  3. Mozzarella: Just Mozzarella
  4. Cheddar + Sausage: Jumbo Sausage + Cheddar
  5. Jumbo Sausage
  6. Korean Rice “Tteok”: Chewy Korean rice cake (suitable for vegetarians)
  7. MyungRang Monster: Jumbo Sausage + Mozzarella + Cheddar + French Fries

All of the above snacks are covered in a layer of  rice flour and bread crumbs. They are then fried to perfection where the crust is crispy and the inside is soft and cheesy (or meaty). Eight different sauces and three types of seasonings gives it additional flavours.

The eight sauces are tomato sauce, sweet chili, chili sauce, BBQ sauce, mayonnaise, honey mustard, cheddar sauce, and cheese mustard. The three seasonings are honey butter, cheese powder, and Parmesan cheese. There is a simpler but really delicious combination that I enjoyed the most. The Mozzarella with sugar instead of sauces and seasoning.

Sauces and seasoning to choose from. Most are from the original MyungRang outlets in South Korea.

These snacks are really filling, especially the MyungRang Monster. Whichever delicious MyungRang snack you choose to try, remember that they are best eaten hot. It is recommended that you eat them within 20 minutes (the earlier the better) to get the best taste and texture of the cheese. You can also pull the cheese. Great for selfies, wefies, and other self photography posts.
